Japanese Dwelling

​

Taking into consideration the scale or size of an average Japanese home, this concept starts to encompass elements that define a dwelling in Japan. Such as the approach to the home, a formal transition from the exterior to the interior and the changes in its elevation, the connection from the outside elements (like the sun, shifting shade, the smell of plants) to its interior spaces. The design is also meant to incorporate gestures of Japanese tradition through monolithic shapes and materials.
